The Hardware and Engineering department of Dumarey Automotive Italia (part of the Dumarey Group) is actively contributing to the GEN1200 project through the involvement of its Transmission Design team and Virtual-NVH team. These specialized groups are responsible for the design and simulation of the reducer and the disconnect clutch. They also provide virtual simulation and design expertise to support the definition and sizing of the thermal management system, ensuring optimal system performance.
Leveraging its extensive experience with global OEMs, Dumarey Automotive Italia plays a key role in supporting the definition of project requirements. This expertise ensures alignment with industry standards and customer expectations, contributing to the successful development of the GEN1200 system.
In addition to design and simulation, Dumarey Automotive Italia oversees the procurement and assembly of the mechanical reducer, verifying its functionality through rigorous testing.
Dumarey Automotive Italia S.p.A. (DAI) is involved in the GEN1200 project, primarily taking responsibility for defining and integrating the full e-axle design within an x-to-1 system. This design ensures that all main electrical and electronic components are seamlessly integrated with the mechanical system (reducer) maintaining fully integrated circuits. As part of this responsibility, DAI is tasked with delivering the mechanical reducer with all ancillaries (Oil Pump, Cooler, disconnected)
In collaboration with Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) and HERON SPORTS, DAI contributes to the design and development of a disconnect clutch that supports the innovative pulse-and-glide strategy. This feature enhances the system’s efficiency and performance by optimizing energy use during vehicle operation. Additionally, DAI ensures the integration of advanced control systems, including the braking system, within the e-axle, further enhancing its functionality.
DAI also supports the definition and design of the vehicle’s thermal management system, ensuring that all thermal requirements are met for optimal system performance. Furthermore, it contributes to defining the main system requirements, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Leading Work Package 2 (WP2), DAI oversees the process definition for program requirements, a critical aspect of the project’s planning and execution.
