In the GEN1200 project, the Department of E-Powertrain & EDS Development (TD-E2) and Powertrain & E-Traction Simulation (TD-P3) of IAV is involved. TD-E2 will be responsible for the design, simulation and manufacturing of the electric motor, while TD-P3 will perform the thermal simulation of the battery modules. Both departments will support the Project with their expertise regarding the development of fully electrified powertrains.
As part of the project, IAV will mainly be responsible for the development and production of a 1200V permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). In this role IAV is leader of the Sub-work package “T3.2 Design and manufacturing of 1200V traction unit’s electrical components”.
IAV is also heavily involved in the work package “T4.1 Development of 10C 50V battery modules with integrated cooling”. IAV will coordinate the thermal modelling of the battery modules and simulate the thermal behaviour of the battery pack during charging.
IAV also supports the work package “T2 Preliminary analysis of 1200V vehicle powertrains” to define the requirements for the target vehicle and the eAxle.
