Bluways

Bluways is a Belgian SME active in energy storage systems and power electronics. Bluways core business activities can be summarized in three key words: Store – Transform – Apply.

Store : Bluways designs and produces electric storage systems using commercial available cells using their in-house proprietary designed battery management system (BMS).

Transform : Bluways delivers the solutions/functions like DC-DC and traction inverters to create  an optimal transformation of the current and voltage.

Apply : Bluways has the knowledge to integrate storage systems and power electronics systems/modules according the requirements of their customers

Today, the core activity of Bluways is the development, production and service of ultracapacitor and battery systems with the auxiliary components for transport applications.

In the GEN1200 project, the development department of Bluways is involved. The involvement is the next step towards high voltage / high current power electronics. Relevant competencies developed in other European projects like HighScape, Orca, Climaflux and Smartcorners are further explored.

Bluways is coordinating a Workpackage of the GEN1200 project. The aim in this workpackage is to develop several novel modules.

The target is to develop a 50V battery module with integrated cooling capable of charging at 10C for ultra fast charging. This module can be mounted in a battery pack of 1200V using a wireless communication BMS.

In this workpackage a 2 stage SiC-GaN DC-DC CLLC converter of 3.6 kW will also be developed.
